Say it ain't so!!!!
Not just illegal sticks and pads, but now we need to call in the referee for an ice measurement!
In other breaking news, George's ancient furnace passed its annual inspection significantly later last night than he had anticipated. And the terror of having someone banging about in his basement when it is too cold to go outside turned him into a virtual cuddling machine.

From the article:
"Eric Dregni has a new book out entitled Zamboni: The Coolest Machines on Earth. It includes a timeline chart showing the key dates in the evolution of the funny, box-shaped machines."
Cool!
As to the main item, aside from complaining to officialdom, the Leafs could try not sucking. I'm not following hockey, so I'm just assuming that the Leafs suck. I'm comfortable with that.
The Zamboni -- an historical perspective. Way, way cool!
At this point in the season the Leafs and Sens suck at approximately the same level! But I'm comfortable with your assumption ...

And...the article started with baseball's Bill Veeck. I think Mr. Scanlan is having a DAK moment.
But, yes. Not sucking would really solve the problem as then the Leafs would win in regulation time instead of banking it all on the shoot-out. Not that I actually want them to win. I just want the whining to stop.
A, yes Mr. Veeck. Front and centre. But at least the whining got a baseball reference ... it was *almost* a baseball story. (I wonder if DAK is at least lurking.)
Wendy,
Concerning your Zamboni post, did you see this bit of recent news?
BOISE, Idaho - Two employees of the city's ice skating rink have been fired for making a midnight fast-food run in a pair of Zambonis. An anonymous tipster reported seeing the two big ice-resurfacing machines chug through a Burger King drive-through and return to the rink around 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 10. The squat, rubber-tired vehicles, which have a top speed of about 5 mph, drove 1 1/2 miles in all.
Oh, Al!!! That is just way, way too funny!!! Thanks! (No, I hadn't seen it.)
